Mailshake alternatives for cold email: pricing, dialer, LinkedIn and what each one does

Rather not build this yourself? Pipefire runs your cold email end to end.See how it works →

Mailshake alternatives for cold email split into two kinds of answer: another sending and calling tool you run yourself, or a done-for-you service that buys the domains, finds the prospects and sends for you. Which one fits depends on whether the gap you have hit is a feature inside Mailshake's plans, or the fact that you are the one running the tool at all.

This page checks Mailshake's own pricing first, then puts Pipefire, which we make, up against it feature by feature, before covering Saleshandy, Instantly and lemlist as other named options. For the broader map of what cold email software does by category, see our cold email software guide, which this page does not repeat.

What does Mailshake's own pricing cover for cold email?

Mailshake's pricing page sells three per-user plans, priced by how many email addresses and phone numbers you can connect, not by send volume. Checked on mailshake.com/pricing in October 2026, with monthly billing selected, Starter costs $29 a month for 1 email address per account, 1,500 email sends a month, unlimited uploaded contacts, 50 free data-finder credits, unlimited email warm-up and unlimited email verification.

Email Outreach costs $49 a month for 2 email addresses per account, unlimited email sends a month, and the same unlimited warm-up and verification, plus email rotation, advanced scheduling, a unified inbox and CRM integrations. Sales Engagement costs $99 a month for 10 email addresses per account, unlimited sends, 2,500 free data-finder credits, and adds a built-in power phone dialer with 5 phone numbers and unlimited free dialer minutes to North American numbers. An Agency Plan, priced on request, matches Sales Engagement with unlimited email addresses.

Mailshake is built around email and calling together: Sales Engagement's dialer and phone numbers are part of the base plan, not an add-on. There is no LinkedIn step on any Mailshake plan, checked on the same pricing page.

Two features are sold separately from every plan. Data Finder, for finding decision-maker contact details, costs $19 a month, checked on mailshake.com/data-finder, with a free 50-credit trial. Ready-to-use mailboxes cost $12 a month for 1 domain and 5 mailboxes, checked on mailshake.com/multiple-mailboxes, with SPF, MX and DKIM already configured.

Is Pipefire a Mailshake alternative for cold email?

Pipefire, which we make, is a done-for-you cold email platform. One flat monthly fee covers the sending domains, the mailboxes, the DNS records, the warm-up, the prospecting and the campaign copy, run as a service rather than a per-user plan plus separate add-ons. Mailshake is a different kind of product: an email and phone outreach tool, priced per user, that you set up, target, write for and dial from yourself.

The clearest structural difference is channel. Mailshake's Sales Engagement plan bundles a phone dialer with 5 phone numbers and unlimited North American dialer minutes into the same per-user price as email sending. Mailshake also lists LinkedIn integrations on its features page for exporting and syncing contacts. Pipefire sends cold email only: there is no dialer and no LinkedIn sending step in the product, because that is not the job it does.

Mailshake is the better fit if you want calling and email in one tool, already have your own mailboxes, and want to operate the sequence and the phone calls yourself. If the job is wanting someone else to buy the sending domains, find the prospects and write the emails for an email-only cold outreach campaign, that is the gap Pipefire is built for.

Pipefire vs Mailshake: a cold outreach feature comparison

The table below checks every Mailshake cell against mailshake.com's own pricing and feature pages, opened today. Pipefire cells come from the product's tier configuration and feature pages, not from results, since nothing is measured yet.

Checked on mailshake.com, October 2026.

A row marked "Not listed" means Mailshake's own site does not describe that capability on the pages checked. Mailshake's dialer and unlimited North American calling minutes on Sales Engagement are a real, specific capability Pipefire does not have and does not try to match. Pipefire sends cold email only, with no calls, no SMS and no LinkedIn sending step. LinkedIn is used only as a public source when Pipefire is finding prospects, never as a channel it sends through.

What does Pipefire's Standard plan include for cold email that Mailshake's add-ons sell separately?

Pipefire's Standard plan is $497 a month for 10 sending domains and 20 mailboxes, about 12,600 cold emails a month. Setup, 14-day warm-up, prospecting, AI-drafted campaign copy and reply sorting are included in that single price rather than billed as separate line items the way Mailshake's Data Finder and mailboxes add-ons are.

Every mailbox is watched for bounce and complaint rates, and a campaign pauses itself if either threshold is crossed on a batch, before the damage reaches the rest of the fleet. You still approve every email before it sends; Pipefire drafts from a brief and a sample of your real prospect list, but the sign-off is yours.

A buyer running 20 mailboxes on Mailshake's Email Outreach plan at $49 a month per user would need 4 of Mailshake's $12 mailbox add-on bundles, 4 domains and 20 mailboxes, at $48 a month. Add a Data Finder subscription at $19 a month for prospecting beyond the free credits, and the real monthly total pushes well past the base plan price, before even counting the per-user seat cost. See the full feature list for what each Pipefire tier includes.

What other cold email tools are worth comparing to Mailshake?

Saleshandy, Instantly and lemlist are three other named tools worth checking against Mailshake if the gap is the sending tool and its add-ons, not whether to run one at all.

Saleshandy's pricing page, checked October 2026, starts Starter at $41 a month billed monthly for 2,000 active prospects, 6,000 emails a month and 1,500 lead-finder credits a month, with unlimited mailbox connections included and an 852 million-plus contact database. Purpose-built sending domains and mailboxes are a separate Email Infrastructure add-on, from $2.99 to $3.99 a mailbox a month plus $14 a year per domain.

Instantly's pricing page, checked October 2026, starts Growth at $47 a month for 5,000 emails and 1,000 uploaded contacts, with unlimited mailbox connections and unlimited warm-up included on every tier. A 450 million-plus lead database and an AI email writer sit behind a separate Instantly Credits product from $47 a month, and done-for-you domains cost $15 a year with mailboxes from $4 to $10 a month.

Lemlist's pricing page, checked October 2026, starts Email at $69 a month billed monthly, $55 a month billed annually, for 50,000 emails a month, unlimited users and senders, and a 650 million-plus lead database bundled into the plan. Mailboxes bought inside lemlist cost from $5 a month for SMTP or $10 a month for Google or Outlook, and data credits for finding and verifying contacts are a separate $20 a month add-on for 2,000 credits.

None of the three bundles a phone dialer the way Mailshake's Sales Engagement plan does; all three expect you to build and run the sending sequence yourself. Our guide to finding an email address covers the manual side of prospecting regardless of which database or tool does the sending.

How do you choose a cold email tool between Mailshake, Saleshandy, Instantly, lemlist and a done-for-you platform?

Match the choice to how much of the stack you want to run yourself, and whether calling matters, then check the pricing basis before comparing headline numbers.

  1. Decide whether calling is part of your cold outreach. Mailshake is the only tool here with a built-in dialer and phone numbers bundled into the plan price; the others are email-first, and Pipefire is email-only.
  2. Decide whether you want to operate the tool or hand it off. Mailshake, Saleshandy, Instantly and lemlist are all tools you run yourself, however they are priced. A done-for-you platform like Pipefire removes that operating work at a flat monthly price.
  3. Check whether domains and mailboxes are included or sold separately. All four comparison tools price purpose-built sending domains and mailboxes as an add-on; Pipefire includes them in the base price.
  4. Check whether prospecting is a database you search or a service that finds for you. Mailshake's Data Finder and Saleshandy's built-in database are both self-serve; Pipefire finds a fresh, verified list for your chosen area and trade as part of the service.
  5. Decide who writes the copy. Mailshake, Saleshandy, Instantly and lemlist each offer AI writing assistance inside the tool, but you are still building and sending the sequence; Pipefire drafts the sequence from a brief as part of the service, and you approve it.

Our cold email cost breakdown compares what a full monthly stack costs across these different approaches, DIY sending tools, a done-for-you platform, and an agency retainer, so you can compare totals rather than headline prices alone.

Mailshake alternatives cold email FAQ

Is Pipefire a good Mailshake alternative for cold email?

It depends on what you want run for you, and whether you need calling. Pipefire bundles sending domains, mailboxes, DNS, warm-up, prospecting and campaign writing into one flat monthly fee for email only; Mailshake is the better fit if you want a dialer and phone numbers bundled with your email sending.

Does Mailshake have a LinkedIn outreach step like other cold email tools?

Not as a sending sequence step on its pricing page, checked October 2026. Mailshake's features list LinkedIn-related integrations for contact management, not an automated LinkedIn send step inside a sequence. Pipefire also has no LinkedIn sending step; LinkedIn is used only as a public source when finding prospects, not a channel either tool sends through.

What is the cheapest Mailshake alternative for cold email?

Among the tools on this page, Instantly's Growth plan starts at $47 a month for 5,000 emails, and Saleshandy's Starter plan runs $41 a month billed monthly for 6,000 emails, both checked October 2026. Mailshake's own Starter plan runs $29 a month but caps sends at 1,500 a month and one email address. Compare the actual caps and add-on costs against your volume, not the headline number alone.

Does Mailshake include cold email sending domains and mailboxes in its base plan?

No. Mailshake's own pricing page and mailboxes page, checked October 2026, sell ready-to-use mailboxes as a separate add-on, from $12 a month for 1 domain and 5 mailboxes. The base plans connect mailboxes you already hold at no extra per-mailbox fee, up to the plan's email address limit.

Is there a done-for-you alternative to running a cold email tool like Mailshake?

Yes. Pipefire runs the domains, mailboxes, warm-up, prospecting and campaign writing as one service instead of selling software to operate. Its Standard plan costs $497 a month for 10 domains and 20 mailboxes, with every email approved before it sends. It sends cold email only, with no dialer and no LinkedIn step.
